As part of our effort to continually grow our in-house panel, Research & Marketing Strategies (RMS) launches a panel survey every few months to keep our members engaged. Panel members are also randomly selected for various quantitative and qualitative studies in which they may qualify for throughout the year. These panel surveys are conducted in-house as a way to help our analytics team gain more information about a specific topic or industry. Our past panel surveys have covered topics such as local library usage and holiday shopping habits.
The latest panel survey focused on higher education and continuing education of respondents. It was conducted in May of 2012 with the RMS panel. More than 200 respondents replied to the RMS panel survey and results are detailed below:
One-quarter of respondents who are not currently enrolled stated they would be likely to pursue a degree in the next five years, which represents a large audience of adult learners who are interested in continuing education. In conjunction with the likelihood to pursue a degree, 68% stated they would be likely to pursue it part-time. The slight majority of participants expressed an interest in the hybrid class format (both online and classroom.)
