This blog post was written by our guest blogger Alyssa Dalrymple, our summer intern at Research & Marketing Strategies (RMS) here in Baldwinsville, NY.
I am thrilled to be joining the RMS team as an intern this summer. Although I have only been here for a few days, it has already been an incredible learning experience and I have definitely been kept busy. The scope and scale of the company’s business operations is truly impressive. In just a short period of time, I have received certified training for the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), become familiar with the database that stores extensive contact information and assisted with everything from panel surveys to preparing materials for focus groups and client visits.
I am certain that my time here will be spent practically applying the skills I have acquired throughout my education and experiences. As a marketing major at SUNY Oswego, it was my marketing research class that piqued my interest in this industry. Also, interestingly enough, I found out during my interview that I had participated in an RMS focus group during my freshman year – it’s a small world!
Above all, the people I work with have made my position a very enjoyable one so far. I have been welcomed wholeheartedly into a supportive and professional work environment. I’m looking forward to learning as much as I can from a company that puts client needs as top priority and keeps its employees happy in the process.
